The integration of our services over the years into a business-professional ensemble has been a very rewarding endeavor, and I’d love to share with you the brief history of HAIL’s beginning.
HAIL Enterprises started merely as an “anticipation game.” With a firm resolve to enter the home appraisal industry as a 3rd generation appraiser, I was ready to go all in with my time and resources. After-all, appraisals have run in my family’s life-blood for over 70 years, so I knew I’d be hitting the ground running, with the very best training and expertise at my disposal. However, with all the requirements and prerequisites demanded of incoming professionals, and knowing well the versatility and compatibility between the different practices of real estate, I decided to obtain my agent’s license at the same-time, while anticipating the procurement of my appraiser certification.
As it turns out, entrepreneurial incentive and the start of one’s own business, as lofty as they sound, are very challenging to cultivate. The beginning payout is, quite frankly, less than ideal. Needless-to-say, I hungered for some extra pocket money. While striving to build up my real estate business, and in turn, strengthen my level of industry-acumen, I decided to do what so many other entrepreneurs have done to make ends meet (so I’d seen on Shark Tank anyway!): I started Ubering.
As it turns out, transportation services in Calvert County are slim pickings. Many of my passengers began to ask me for my personal phone number in order to secure for themselves their next ride, instead of hoping last minute one would pull through. With enough passengers and revenue later, I decided it was time for me to form a business. I wanted to make sure I was liable for the customers I was serving. The product: HAIL Rideshare Service.
It wasn’t too long after when HAIL Appraisals and Home Sales took off. You’d be surprised how frequently the topic of real estate is broached in conversation with my passengers.
Yeah, I’m looking to sell next spring, trying to move closer to family, but I’m unsure of how much my home would go for.
We really want to refinance our house. We’ve put so many upgrades into our investment, it’s gotta be worth much more now than it was when we bought it… right?!
It’s great connecting with locals on a very personal level, building trust and confidence one trip at a time. Who would have ever thought that transportation and real estate would be as complimentary as they have been! Now covering the entire DC Metropolitan Area, HAIL Appraisals and Home Sales have been providing its clients and colleagues with one of the most powerful tools to procuring one’s real estate goals.
Still more, with me driving passengers all around town, combined with my familiarity and admiration for the home that’s given me so much ( and not withstanding the increase in HAIL’s social media traction), it didn’t take long for me to familiarize myself with many of Calvert County’s small business owners. And so, with a little charisma, and a lot of fun, HAIL ventured to start a production company aimed at engaging local audiences with their surrounding local businesses.
